Moments in Time
Adobe Premiere Pro, Nikon D7200
I've taken so many photos in Vancouver's downtown over the years. While I never really get sick of photowalks, I found myself tired of taking the same photos on the same routes over and over again. My camera takes decent video, so I thought I'd give that a try—on a hot summer day during the annual jazz festival, I meandered the streets and filmed anything that caught my eye.
Because I was shooting handheld with a DSLR, I chose to shoot at 60fps and play back in slow motion, primarily to reduce camera shake. This also turned out to be a neat creative choice as well. There really isn't much of a rhyme or reason to the shot choices besides representing regular, fleeting moments. The music, by Hicham Chahidi, pulled the whole piece together.
